Loretta Lynn, Sheryl Crow, and Miranda Lambert Debut Single “Coal Miner’s Daughter”

The stage is set for the all-star November 9 release of Coal Miner’s Daughter: A Tribute to Loretta Lynn with word that the first single will be the title track, Lynn’s iconic classic, “Coal Miner’s Daughter,” featuring Loretta Lynn, Sheryl Crow, and Miranda Lambert.

In an interview with Billboard.com, Loretta Lynn said “I love Miranda and Sheryl and I really felt they both brought something different singing style wise to this song. Miranda is so country and has a sassiness to her you can hear it as soon as she sings her first line “my daddy worked all night in the Van Lear coal mine…”! Sheryl adds such a soulfulness to her lines. I loved both. I am so happy and proud they did the song with me.”

In an exclusive preview, Billboard.com is streaming the single which will ship and be available digitally to country radio on Tuesday, September 14.  Click Below and listen.
In addition to its inclusion on the upcoming album, fans will be able to purchase the new recording as a digital single, releasing September 28.

Along with Sheryl Crow and Miranda Lambert, other artists chosen by Lynn for the upcoming album include (in alphabetical order) Steve Earle, Faith Hill, Alan Jackson, Kid Rock, Martina McBride, Allison Moorer, Paramore, Reba, Carrie Underwood, The White Stripes, Lucinda Williams, Gretchen Wilson, and Lee Ann Womack.
