RCA Nashville recording artist Chris Young is among the latest artists to be announced as a performer on Wednesday’s 2010 CMT Music Awards. Young is currently a nominee for the fan-voted Nationwide Insurance On Your Side Award, recognizing country’s hottest rising stars.
Young kicked-off an event-filled week this past Sunday, filming the music video for his upcoming single, “Voices” (from his current album, The Man I Want to Be) outside
Thursday will also mark the first of Young’s appearances at the 2010 CMA Music Festival, which will include his Thursday and Sunday autograph signings (including all day on Sunday) for attendees at the Greased Lightning Fan Fair Hall, as well as a Friday afternoon performance on the downtown Riverfront Park Stage.
On Friday afternoon, Young will also deliver a performance to kick-off the second annual Guitars of the Stars Benefit Auction at 3 PM at the Ryman Auditorium. The event, which offers fans in town for the CMA Music Festival the opportunity to bid on acoustic guitars decorated by some of country’s hottest stars, will benefit the Grand Ole Opry’s Opry Trust Fund, with funds earmarked for victims of the recent flooding in Middle Tennessee. In addition to the other celebrity guitars up for auction, Young will contribute a guitar personalized for a winning bidder that afternoon.
Saturday’s activities will include Young’s official fan club event, as well as the fourth annual CMA Fan Social presented by CMT.
