Taylor Swift Wins Song Of The Year AT BMI Pop Awards

Taylor Swift needs to make more room on her awards shelf as she just picked up another award for her song “Love Story” as it was named Song of the Year at the BMI Pop Awards earlier this week.

At only 20 years old, Taylor Swift is the youngest songwriter in history to receive this award and the first country artist in more than a decade. Shania Twain and Dolly Parton were previous recipients of this award back in the 1990’s.

“Love Story” was honored for receiving more radio airplay in the past year than any other pop song and earned BMI’s Country Song of the Year honors in 2009. Swift also won BMI’s Country Song of the Year in 2008, for “Teardrops On My Guitar” which was the year she became the youngest songwriter in any genre to win the honor.

Taylor Swift is the first female songwriter in history to win back-to-back BMI Song of the Year awards, in any genre.
