Miranda Lambert Talks to US Magazine & Gives Pink Guitar To A Lucky Fan

Miranda Lambert, who was an opener on Kenny Chesney’s Sun City Carnival Tour last year, is headlining her own tour this year. In addition to her Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars Tour, Miranda has 5 nominations in this years ACM Awards. Her nominations include Top Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year for Revolution, Single Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Video of the Year for White Liar.

Miranda recently caught up with Us Magazine last month while one the road and discussed her Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars Tour:

“Well, I’m finally here…The Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars Tour. For 10 years I’ve always dreamed about headlining an arena, basically ever since I first started playing in bar bands, I always knew I could do it. The first stop we played [on March 18] was in in Beckley, WV and those dreams came true: WE SOLD IT OUT! Not bad for a first try, huh? I was so overwhelmed and overjoyed, I actually handed a kid in the crowd the brand new pink Gibson electric guitar I was playing. You never know what’s gonna happen on these shows…I thought it was a great kickoff, even if I do have to go buy a new guitar.

As we are out on this tour, we’re really trying first and foremost to give the fans the best show we can. We’re trying some new things on stage — you will have to come to the show to see what they are! We’re going to play a couple songs acoustic with the full band each night and we’re also going to bring back and re-work a lot of old stuff that people have been requesting over the last few years. It’s such a great chance to do all the things that we’ve [thought of and said] “Man, that would be so cool if we…”

I couldn’t believe the Beckley crowd. I can’t believe the response we’ve gotten from all the fans buying tickets for the shows we have coming up. It’s been amazing. The second night of the tour was in Duluth, GA (right outside of Atlanta) and we’ve had another sold out show! We wrapped that weekend in Orlando, FL and I have a couple days off before we head out again.

I can’t wait to see what else this tour holds in store for me. James Otto was my special guest the first night and the 2nd weekend out was David Nail. I sang a song on David’s record, a song called “Strangers on a Train.” When he was out on the road with us, we did an acoustic version of it and it was fantastic as the crowd sang along. This tour has a different special guest out each week. I’m really looking forward to Eric Church, Chris Young, Jake Owen, and all the others who may drop in to play a few tunes. Keep on trucking. 1. My daughter and I were lucky enough to have front row seats at the St. Leonard Fire House in Calvert Co. Maryland back in 2006. Miranda Lambert, Horizon award nominee and Hottest selling female debut artist of 2005 along with Jason Aldean, the hottest selling male debut artist of 2005 #1 video for Hicktown. You made a comment that pretty girls came from Texas and pointed to my daughter Holly and said they come from Maryland too. When you sang Kerosene I about took you out..lol at the point in the song when you jerk forward and say haaa, I did it too. We about smacked faces.

  2. ….I have the towel that you used during the concert with your makeup on it…best concert ever.

  3. Congratulations to Amanda on her recent nominations. Does anyone know more details about her pink guitar? I thought I might find something online but didn't have any luck, I'd like to get one for my girl.
