Blake Shelton became the first country artist ever to win the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Album with 2016’s Gold-certified smash If I’m Honest. Shelton, who also took home his second consecutive award for Favorite Male Country Artist, joins superstars and previous winners such as Ed Sheeran, Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga and more.

“It’s so cool to be recognized by the people who are spending the money and taking time out of their day to vote,” Shelton said. “I could not be more thankful. All I’ve ever wanted to do is sing country music, so to win Favorite Male Country Artist is incredible. And to be the first country artist to ever win Favorite Album is beyond words. I’m so proud of If I’m Honest and to know that it’s resonating with fans is why I make music.”

Described by The Tennessean in his live performances as “one of country music’s most skilled song men and reliable, identifiable voices,” Shelton took the stage at the People’s Choice Awards to premiere his forthcoming single “Every Time I Hear That Song.” Just this week Shelton earned his 23rd chart-topping single as “A Guy With A Girl” hit No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.

With these latest awards and his massive performance, the Platinum-selling recording artist continues to burst into 2017 with excitement and vigor. He will kick off his “Doing It To Country Songs” tour in Bakersfield, CA on February 16 with Voice season 11 champion Sundance Head and season 2 contestant, label-mate and Pandora “Ones To Watch” artist RaeLynn. In addition to beginning production on the reality competition’s upcoming season, Shelton and Ryman Hospitality also recently announced a new entertainment-themed bar and restaurant in Nashville, Ole Red.
